2009 Free Fishing Day in Idaho
On Saturday June 13th it was free fishing day in Idaho so we decided to go even though the weather was not very cooperative.
First of all we decided to go to Foster Reservoir right next to Kalee's grandparents house. We got ready and away we went. When we turned down the lane towards the water I noticed that there was no one fishing except for one other car and they where leaving. Great we had the whole lake to ourselves. So we thought. While I was out preparing all the boys fishing poles, Kalee was on the phone, like always.. hahaha...... Talking to her grandpa, and he told her that there was no fish in the reservoir because they had drained it last winter and never planted it again.... that explains why there was no one fishing there. So I finished getting the poles rigged up while Kalee and Chalis walked back to her grandma's house. We met her over there and then decided to go try Johnson Reservoir, east of Preston. We arrived and there where a few other people fishing so that was a good sign.
Here Kalee and Chalis are getting ready to put a worm on the hook, Kalee is reaching into the worm container to get one of the slimey little devils. This was so funny, you just had to be there to get the full results.
Well they finally got a worm in hand and was getting ready to put it on the hook, Kalee has worm and hook in hand, now she just has to put them together..... easier said than done. This was so funny, I wasn't really paying attention right at first until I heard the squeal and that got my attention immediately. I looked and Kalee was kind of freaking out, I guess she was really doing good, Chalis had given her half of a worm and she assumed it was dead, so she started to put in on the hook, great, then she poked it with the hook, and it squirmed, that was where the squeal came from, no it was not the worm, it was Kalee, I thought it was dead was what she said. It was funny, she did finally get the worm on the hook....what a sport....
Here Chalis is fishing, Shayne is putting a worm on his hook and Chett is rigging his pole with a spinner.
Chalis got a fish... alright..... it was a little yellow bellied blue gill...
Now was Kalee's attempt to catching a fish....
Here Shayne is attempting it....
He found it was much easier to hook them just before they took the worm... The little schools of Blue Gill would come close to the shore and you could see them...It was fun to hook all in the school...
Chett caught one here, both him and Kalee weren't to sure they wanted to touch the prickly little guy, eventually they got it off the hook and tryed again.
Well we had a fun afternoon at Johnson reservoir until we ran out of worms, so we decided to go get some more and head over to Glendale. Once we got there the weather started to turn off bad again so we didn't stay there for long. We decided to quit and headed back to Kalee's. Good thing we quit when we did because a flash flood hit shortly after.

You update your page more than I do! We definately need to do something together one of these days :)
